and I immediately knew she was in Palo Alto. And I freaked out. Because Jamie Beck is one my favorite photographers ever. I look at her work on a regular basis and while you could say that’s mostly because she updates her Tumblr on a regular basis but when I’m too tired to look through my dashboard, hers is the first site I actually type into my URL bar (I know, damn, that’s impressive). I love her work. It’s honestly undoubtedly been an influence upon my own personal photography this year and the way I decided to present them on Tumblr. So naturally I immediately commented on her picture with:
You should come to Stanford!!! I’m obsessed with your photography and Tumblr and would love a chance to hear you talk about it!
To which she replied,
@hm0ng oh thanks! that would be fun!
And you know, further analysis of my comment revealed that I may have sounded a tad bit over exuberant. Like, maybe just a little crazy.
Like, OKAY, maybe the 3 exclamation points were too much. As my friend said, “If you had just told me, I would have let you know that 3 exclamation points may make you sound like a little girl.”
I’m sorry okay, I just love who I love, hashtag no shame.
