It’s the weekend before exams begin so naturally I went to study at the library with a friend and made a mini video about it set to a shitty dubstep track (with a really cool drop). Whaddup.

Usually I think AlertSU are kind of funny, because I (probably naively) feel safe on this campus. Today’s email was a reminder that mental health is a huge issue here at Stanford, regardless of the focus on happiness and community. The student body suffers far more harm from stress and mental illness than they do from hot prowls and escaped prisoners. Be good to each other today.
The AlertSU the Stanford student body received today at 6am:
“From Stanford Police: At approximately 5:10 am on Thursday, November 29, 2012, a male fired one shot into his head in what appears to be a suicide attempt. There is no threat to the Stanford community at this time. No further information will be posted to http://police.stanford.edu unless a threat to the community is perceived.”
